Christianity is not a religion; it is the life of God at work in a man. There is one truth at the heart of Christianity that made it possible for us to receive that life, and that truth is the biggest thing in Christianity. It is what separates Christianity from religion, and without embracing this truth, it is not possible for a man to be born again. The biggest thing in Christianity is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The biggest thing in Christianity is not that Jesus was born of a virgin, even though that qualified Him to be the Saviour of the world. However, if God didn't raise Him from the dead, there wouldn't have been salvation. The Bible says that Jesus was delivered for our offences, and raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). When He died, we died in Him, and when He was buried, we were buried in Him (Romans 6:3-4). When He was raised from the dead, we were raised together with Him from the dead, unto a new life (Ephesians 2:6).
If Jesus was not raised from the dead, then we are not justified and that means we are still in sin. But thank God that He arose from the dead! The Bible says, *_"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"_* (Romans 10:9). If you don't believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, you cannot be saved, for it is one of the requirements for salvation.
Take some time today to meditate on the resurrection of Jesus and what it means to you. The resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, remains the bedrock of Christianity. You are born again, with a new life, because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the biggest thing in Christianity, because without it, there is no salvation.
